- What is device management and why do I need it?
- Device management, often called mobile device management or MDM, lets you centrally configure, secure and patch laptops, phones and tablets. Without it, you rely on staff to patch and encrypt their own devices, which is exactly what attackers and auditors look for. Managed devices are encrypted, patched and compliant by default.
- Do I need both Intune and Jamf?
- If you run Windows and Macs, yes. Intune handles Windows and Android, Jamf Pro handles Apple devices. We run both together so you get a single compliance picture across the whole fleet. Intune-only shops still get full coverage on the Microsoft side.
- Can you manage personal phones under BYOD?
- Yes. We use Intune app protection policies and Jamf to separate work data from personal data on BYOD devices. We can wipe the work container without touching someone's personal photos or apps.
