Networks and Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi that works, and one team to call when it does not.

Drop-outs in the meeting room, guests on the same network as your files, a firewall nobody has updated in years. Most business networks were set up once and then left alone.

We design it properly, install it, and look after it from then on.

Business network questions

Who supports business Wi-Fi and networks in Brisbane?

Real Bytes designs, installs and supports business Wi-Fi, switches and firewalls from Brisbane, using Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, Ubiquiti UniFi and HPE Aruba. Senior Brisbane-based engineers build the network and support it afterwards, and we monitor networks remotely anywhere in Australia.

Meraki or UniFi for a small business?

It depends on how you want to pay. Meraki needs an active licence on every device to keep working properly, while UniFi is bought once with no ongoing licence. We compare both against your sites, staff and budget and explain the recommendation in writing.

What changes

A network you do not have to think about.

Wi-Fi works in every room

Access points are placed and set up for how many people use each space, so the boardroom and the back office both get a signal.

Guests stay off your business network

Staff, guests, printers and cameras sit on separate networks, so a visitor or a cheap device cannot reach your files.

Sites connect to each other

Branch offices, warehouses and schools link back to head office or the cloud, with the same rules applied everywhere.

You know what you own

Every switch, firewall and access point is documented, with its licence and replacement date tracked, so nothing expires by surprise.

One team to call

When the network drops, we own it until it is fixed. The engineers who built it are the ones who support it.

What happens

Priced before anything is installed.

  1. 01

    Look

We check your current network, what is old, what is unlicensed and where it is weak.

  2. 02

    Design

A plain written plan with the hardware we recommend and why, priced before you commit.

  3. 03

    Install

Set up and tested before it arrives on site, then switched over out of hours.

  4. 04

    Look after it

Monitoring, updates and licence renewals handled from then on.

Why it matters

Firewalls and remote access are now a main target.

22%

of security flaws attackers exploited were in firewalls, VPNs and other network edge devices, up from 3% the year before. Keeping that gear updated is part of the job.

Common questions

The questions we get asked the most.

Which brands do you install?
Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, Ubiquiti UniFi and HPE Aruba. We pick the one that suits your budget and how much you want to pay in ongoing licences, and we explain the choice in writing.
Are you a Cisco partner?
Yes. Real Bytes Pty Ltd is a Cisco SMB and Mid-Market Business Practice partner for Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. You can check it on the Cisco Partner Locator.
Can you take over the network we already have?
Yes. We audit what is in place, document it and support it as it is. We only suggest replacing gear when it is out of support or no longer fits the business.
Do some brands have ongoing licence costs?
Yes. Meraki and most current Cisco gear stop working properly without an active licence. UniFi has no ongoing licence. We tell you the running cost up front and track renewals for you.
Do you work outside Brisbane?
Yes. We have people and partners in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Albury for installs, and monitor and support networks remotely anywhere in Australia.
