About This Statement
This statement is made by Real Bytes Pty Ltd (ACN 620 082 706) in accordance with Australia's Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth). It describes the steps Real Bytes has taken during the reporting period to assess and address the risks of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced labour, child labour, debt bondage, deceptive recruiting, and human trafficking. We are committed to operating our business in a way that respects human rights and contributes to the eradication of these practices.
Our Business & Structure
Real Bytes Pty Ltd is a Queensland-based managed IT service provider (MSP) and cybersecurity firm, established in 2017. We employ IT professionals across Brisbane and provide services to clients throughout Australia across sectors including education, healthcare, government, and enterprise.
Our supply chain includes: software and SaaS vendors (primarily US and European-based), hardware distributors operating within Australia, cloud infrastructure providers, and professional services subcontractors.
Our Commitments
Zero Tolerance for Forced Labour
Real Bytes has a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery in all its forms, including forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, and servitude. No person engaged in our operations or supply chain should be subject to coercion, threat or deception.
Ethical Employment Practices
All Real Bytes employees and contractors are engaged under fair, transparent, and legally compliant terms. We pay at least the applicable minimum wage, provide safe and respectful working conditions, and ensure all staff are free to leave employment at any time.
Supply Chain Due Diligence
We assess our suppliers and partners for modern slavery risks prior to engagement and on an ongoing basis. We give preference to vendors who can demonstrate strong labour practices, and we take action (including terminating relationships) where serious concerns are identified.
Risk Assessment
As a technology services company, our direct modern slavery risk is considered low. Our workforce is based in Australia and engaged under Australian employment law. Our primary supply chain risk areas are offshore software vendors and hardware manufacturing, which we monitor and assess accordingly.
Training & Awareness
Staff involved in procurement and supplier management receive training to identify potential indicators of modern slavery and understand their obligations. All staff are encouraged to report concerns through our confidential reporting process.
Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continuously improving our practices and reporting. We review this statement annually, refine our due diligence processes, and track the actions we commit to each year. We encourage feedback from staff, clients, and partners on how we can do better.
