Business phones on the same network as everything else.

UniFi Talk desk phones plug into your UniFi network and are managed in the same app as your Wi-Fi, cameras and doors. In Australia the handsets run on an Australian SIP trunk from a carrier, which supplies your numbers and porting. We install them and look after them.

Why it matters

An old phone system ties your calls to one box in one office.

Ageing on-site phone systems are hard to change, hard to support and stop working when the box fails. Adding a staff member or a second office often means a call-out.

UniFi Talk handsets run on your UniFi network and are managed in the same app. In Australia, calls connect through a third-party SIP trunk from an Australian carrier, and we look after the setup.

UniFi Talk questions

What is UniFi Talk?

UniFi Talk is Ubiquiti's business phone system. Desk phones connect to your UniFi network, take power over the same cable, and are managed in the UniFi app alongside your Wi-Fi, cameras and door access. Ubiquiti's own Talk calling plans are not sold in Australia, so Australian numbers, porting and calling come from a SIP carrier such as Breeze Connect or your existing provider. Real Bytes installs the phones and supports them as part of your managed IT.

Can UniFi Talk work with Microsoft Teams calling?

They are separate options. Some businesses want desk handsets on UniFi Talk, others want calls inside Microsoft Teams, and some use both. We look at how your staff take calls and recommend the setup that suits them, then handle the numbers either way.

What you get

Phones that are part of the system, not a separate one.

One app to manage

Phones show up beside your switches, access points, cameras and doors, so we can see and fix them remotely.

One cable per desk

Desk phones take power and network from the same UniFi switch, with no separate power packs.

Intercom ties in

Door intercoms can ring the right desk, so staff answer visitors and unlock from where they sit.

One network for every device

Wi-Fi, cameras, door readers, phones and displays all run on the same UniFi network and app.

Keeps running if the internet drops

Each site has its own UniFi console, so cameras and doors keep working locally during an internet outage.

One staff app for Wi-Fi, VPN and doors

Staff sign in once to join the Wi-Fi, connect the VPN, unlock doors and answer the intercom.

Why it holds up

Hardware, support and cover behind every install.

Built not to fall over

Business-grade UniFi hardware supports backup internet links, spare power supplies and fans that can be swapped while it runs, so one failed part does not take the site down.

Ubiquiti behind our engineers

Ubiquiti offers paid 24/7 phone support plans for UniFi, so hard hardware problems can be escalated to the people who make it.

Up to five years of hardware cover

Ubiquiti's UI Care plans cover hardware for up to five years, with replacements shipped before the faulty unit goes back.

How it works

Priced before anything is installed.

  1. 01

    Survey

We walk the site, or work from floor plans, and plan where access points, cameras and readers should go.

  2. 02

    Quote

A fixed-price proposal with every device and cable run listed, before you commit.

  3. 03

    Install

Cabled, configured and tested, then handed over with a short walk-through of the app.

  4. 04

    Look after it

Alerts come to our engineers, firmware is updated on a schedule and settings are backed up. Most faults are fixed remotely, and Brisbane-based engineers attend when needed.

Common questions

The questions we get asked the most.

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?
Usually, yes. Numbers can normally be ported to a new phone service. We check your numbers and current provider first, then manage the port so calls keep coming in during the change.
Do you also offer hosted voice and Teams calling?
Yes. Real Bytes also provides business internet, hosted voice and Teams calling. If UniFi Talk is not the right fit, we recommend the option that is and explain why.
