What it looks like when all three practices meet on one client.
"A multi-site Queensland operator came to us with a half-finished network rebuild, three open ransomware indicators on the SOC their previous provider had run, and a Microsoft 365 tenant nobody had touched the documentation on in four years."

Infrastructure went first. The network design was rewritten against what the sites actually do, not what was on the original drawing. Cutovers were run from documented runbooks with rollback positions agreed in advance. Handover documentation was produced as part of the project, not retrofitted six months later.

Security operations onboarded the environment the same week. Identity, endpoint, and email signals went into Sentinel. The three open indicators were investigated, contained, and closed inside the first month. The client received their first proper threat report at month end.

Managed services then picked up the day-to-day. The engineer who scoped the network rebuild is still the senior on the account eighteen months later. The runbooks have been updated four times. The client has been through two internal IT staff changes and the operational picture has not slipped.

The shared operating model

The same discipline, whichever practice you start with.

Senior engineers answer the phone. Documentation lives with the client, not with us. Change control gets enforced on the small changes, because that is where the unmanaged ones come from. Vendor decisions are made against the client's situation, not what the engineer happens to know best.

Most IT relationships do not unravel because the technology was wrong. They unravel because the discipline behind it was never written down. The engineer who installed it left. The dashboard got redesigned. A licence renewed automatically that nobody had a note against. Three years in, the client is paying for an environment that nobody really owns.

Our operating model is built to stop that. The same documentation standard applies whether we are running the helpdesk, watching the SOC, or rebuilding the network. It is the thing that makes the relationship survive staff turnover on either side of the line.

What we hold ourselves to

Four commitments that apply across all three practices.

  1. I.

    The senior engineer stays on the account.

    There is no L1 gatekeeper sitting between you and the person who actually understands your environment. The engineer who scoped it is the engineer who runs it. When that engineer is on leave, the handover is written down, not improvised in a Teams chat.

  2. II.

    Documentation is a deliverable, not a favour.

    Every environment we run has a current high-level design, a low-level design, a runbook, and a change log. The client owns those documents. If the relationship ends tomorrow, the next provider picks up the environment without having to rediscover it from scratch.

  3. III.

    Licences and lifecycles are tracked twelve months out.

    Cisco, Meraki, Microsoft, and the rest of the vendor stack are tracked a year before renewal. End-of-sale and end-of-support announcements are flagged the day they are published. The commercial position is on the table well before the budget cycle.

  4. IV.

    The pricing is on the table, not in a black box.

    Pricing builder, statement of work template, and rate card are all written down and reviewed by the client. There is no mystery licence line, no margin hidden inside a distributor invoice, and no late change order to clean up the last ten percent of a project.
