From the stand

It is okay to take the day off.

We handed these out at i-Educate because school IT staff so often work through the days everyone else would call in sick. The systems still need someone watching, so the laptop comes home too.

That is the part we are here for. When you need a day, our Orange Card technicians pick things up, keep a log of anything they touch and hand it straight back when you are well again.

How we help

School IT support for the people already doing the work.

Queensland school IT teams are stretched thin, and the busy weeks always land at once. We are the extra pair of hands your team can call on for device rollouts, audits, project work and the weeks someone is away.

Every job is agreed with your IT staff, delivered alongside them, then documented and handed back. They stay in charge of their school. We just make the load lighter.

Start-of-year device rollouts

Hundreds of devices enrolled, configured and in student hands before the first bell. iPad fleets, Windows laptops, Chromebooks and mixed estates, delivered on schedule.

Leave cover, already inducted

When your IT staff take leave, our Orange Card technicians pick things up from day one. Sick leave, long service or parental leave, all logged and handed straight back when they return.

Audits and compliance uplifts

Asset audits, Essential Eight uplifts and Department compliance work, scoped, delivered and documented so the evidence exists before the deadline arrives.

End-of-year crunch

Device collection, data wipes, licence reviews, server patching and infrastructure updates absorbed before the break, so nothing carries into January.

Projects that keep sliding

New buildings, Wi-Fi upgrades, server refreshes, LMS moves. Your team keeps the school running while we get the project over the line, with a clear start and finish.

Term-start and term-end peaks

The fortnight where everything happens at once. Extra hands while it is busy, and we step back once the term settles.

After-hours and event support

PD days, parent evenings, Saturday sport and school events. We cover the hours no one should be expected to work on their own.

Specialist depth on tap

Security reviews, complex device management and infrastructure design. We bring the specialist for the job and leave your team the documentation.

Who gets what

ICT support that works for everyone in the school.

School IT work only goes well when the person who signs the purchase order, the person who approves it and the person who looks after the systems all feel better off for it.

Business managers

The procurement is already done and the pricing is in your unit of work.

  • Already on QEDSOA-99983: no new vendor onboarding, one purchase order
  • Priced per project or per term, quoted in writing before anything starts
  • The jobs on the list get done without adding pressure to your team
  • A clean paper trail: scope, price, delivery, handover
  • Costs stop when the job is finished, with nothing ongoing to unwind

Principals and deputies

The term plan gets delivered, and your school keeps running when someone is away.

  • Projects that kept sliding to next term get a start and a finish
  • Leave cover that is already inducted, from day one
  • Audit and compliance deadlines met with documentation to show for it
  • PD days, parent evenings and events supported after hours
  • The IT staff you already trust stay front and centre

Your IT staff

You set the scope, we work to it, and everything comes back to you documented.

  • Extra hands when it gets busy, working to your brief
  • Take leave without the school sitting in your back pocket
  • Specialist help on the jobs no one person can cover alone
  • A second opinion on architecture and security whenever you want one
  • Every piece of work handed back with documentation you can use

And teachers and students? They get technology that works on the day it is needed, which is the whole point of all of it.

The tools we were demonstrating

The platforms behind a well-run school fleet.

These are the tools we deploy, configure and support in schools every week. Set up properly, they are the difference between a rollout that drags through a term and one that finishes before the first bell.

Also in the kit: Apple Classroom for teacher-led iPad control, Windows Autopilot for laptop fleets, and the Google Admin console where Chromebooks are part of the picture.

Jamf School

Apple MDM built for education

Purpose-built mobile device management for iPad, Mac and Apple TV in schools. Zero-touch deployment means a device configures itself the first time a student turns it on, with no IT visit required.

  • Zero-touch enrolment of school-owned Apple devices
  • Jamf Teacher, Jamf Parent and Jamf Student apps
  • Lock screens and pre-built lesson plans for class focus
  • Device, user and app insight from one dashboard

On the stand with Schooltech

Classroom technology, and the school IT team behind it.

We shared the stand with Schooltech, an Australian owned and operated team whose classroom gear solves everyday classroom problems. They look after the hardware, we help look after the people and systems behind it.

Immersive learning

3D printing, VR and esports hardware that gets students building and learning.

Classroom control

Jamf School, AB Tutor and Apple School Manager so teachers can see screens and keep students on task.

Charging trolleys

20, 30 and 32-bay trolleys with pre-wired USB-C and 65W charging per port.

Smart lockers

Secure charging with PIN or RFID access and two 65W USB-C cables per bay.

Student headphones

3.5mm or USB-C, built for safety and durability, with a labelling pouch per student.

Amplified support

Extra IT help from the comms room to the classroom, so the busy-term jobs do not get parked until the holidays.

Already on the arrangement

After the event

School IT support questions we were asked at i-Educate 2026

How does the pricing work?

Job by job. A project gets a fixed written price with a clear start and finish. Ongoing help like leave cover or a busy term is priced per term. There is no retainer and no lock-in, so when the work ends the cost ends with it.

What sort of work can you help with?

Anything your school can put a name to. A device rollout, an asset audit, a block of leave cover, a Wi-Fi upgrade, an Essential Eight uplift before a Department audit, or the mad fortnight at the start of term. Describe it and we will scope and price it.

Do we need to run a new procurement process?

No. Real Bytes is an approved supplier under Standing Offer Arrangement QEDSOA-99983 for amplified ICT support, so the vendor checks and compliance are already done. It takes one purchase order, and you can verify the arrangement on the Queensland Government ForGov site.

Who stays in charge of our systems?

Your IT staff, always. The school sets the scope, our technicians work to your IT team's brief, and everything is documented and handed back when the job finishes. Nothing we do sits outside your team's view.

What is the Orange Card?

It is the Department of Education authorisation that lets a technician work on state school systems under Department requirements. Our technicians hold it, so leave cover and project work can start without waiting on an induction.

How quickly can you start?

For leave cover and urgent gaps, usually within days, because the induction and paperwork are already in place. Scoped projects start on a date that suits the school, normally with a week or two to plan properly.

Can you cover our IT staff while they are on leave?

Yes, and it is one of the most common things schools ask for. Our technicians are already inducted, so they can pick things up from day one, keep a log of everything done, and hand it all back when your IT staff return.

What happens when the work finishes?

We document it, hand it back to your IT staff and close it off. There is nothing ongoing to manage. If something else comes up next term, it is one purchase order again.

Next step

What could your school IT team get done with a bit of backup?

Tell us about one project that has stalled or one busy fortnight coming up. We will scope it, price it in writing, deliver it alongside your IT staff and hand it back documented. One purchase order under QEDSOA-99983.
