Common Questions

Questions we get during scoping calls

Yes, and most clients do. A common combination is Managed IT and Cybersecurity as the foundation, with Cloud Consulting or AI Consulting layered on top for specific projects. Co-Managed IT works alongside any of them if you have an internal IT team that needs extra capability.

Managed IT means we run your day-to-day IT and security as your outsourced IT team. Co-Managed IT means your internal IT team stays in charge and we provide specialist engineers, project capacity, or overflow support alongside them. If you have no internal IT team, Managed IT is the fit. If you have an internal team that needs help, Co-Managed IT is the fit.

OT (Operational Technology) is about keeping physical equipment running: pumps, compressors, conveyors, and production lines. IT is about data, systems, and user devices. OT prioritises availability and safety. IT prioritises confidentiality and uptime. The two need different skills, different protocols, and different security approaches. We do both, with proper OT and IT segmentation in between.

It depends on what you are doing. Managed IT covers your ongoing cloud governance, cost management, and security baselines. Cloud Consulting is for bigger one-off work: migrating off on-premises servers, consolidating tenants, restructuring your cloud architecture, or doing a major cost optimisation review. If you are happy with your current cloud setup, Managed IT is enough. If you are planning a migration or a major change, Cloud Consulting is the right entry point.

Our managed services align to the ACSC Essential Eight and SMB1001 Gold. We are an ACSC Network Partner. For OT engagements we work to AS IEC 62443. For AI engagements we align to the Voluntary AI Safety Standard and the Privacy Act. Cloud engagements align to ISO 27001 controls and Australian data sovereignty requirements. We will map the right framework to your industry during scoping.

Managed IT and Co-Managed IT can typically onboard within 2 weeks. Project-based work (Cloud, Infrastructure, OT, AI) starts with a scoping call and a proposal within 5 business days. For urgent cyber incidents, we respond same day through our incident response retainer.
