Business internet and hosted phone
Managed internet, SD-WAN, hosted phone, VoIP and Microsoft Teams calling from one Australian team. We deal with the carriers so you do not have to.
We assess your sites, go to market, and put voice and data on services that actually suit each location. Vendor neutral, with failover built in and one number to call when something needs attention.
Vendor neutral
Best fit per site, not one carrier
Failover built in
A dropped link does not stop work
One bill
Voice, mobile and data together
One team
Engineers who know your setup
A connectivity review in four clear steps.
No pushy sales pitch. We map what you have, go to market on your behalf, and put forward a plan that suits each site. You stay in control the whole way.
We assess your sites
We map every location, what services are in place, what the contracts look like and how staff actually use the connection.
We go to market
We take your requirements to the right carriers and get real quotes, not generic plan pages off a website.
You get a clear plan
A recommendation per site with the right bearer, failover and costs laid out in plain English. You decide what goes ahead.
We manage the lot
Install, number porting, billing and ongoing support. One number to call when something needs attention.
Two carriers we have trusted for years.
Switch Telecom and UPTi are the carriers we trust first. We have put them in front of real clients, time and time again, and they have come through every time. We are not on their payroll to push them. They have earned their spot the hard way, by doing what they say they will, job after job. When we pick between them, it comes down to your sites, your budget and what each location actually needs.
Australian business telco
Switch Telecom is a Melbourne-based business telco built for organisations with more than one site. They run multi-carrier WAN and internet, 5G with intelligent failover, cloud-managed SD-WAN and LAN, IoT, and a genuine Cisco and Webex practice. Clients span hospitality, retail, automotive and not-for-profit, including names like Kia, Mission Australia, Ray White and the Australian Grand Prix.
What they bring
- Multi-carrier WAN and internet. Internet and WAN across multiple sites, with the bearer picked per location rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.
- 5G with intelligent failover. 5G backup that kicks in automatically when a fixed line drops, so branches, vehicles and low-signal areas stay connected.
- Cloud-managed SD-WAN. Bond multiple links, steer traffic onto the best path, and keep critical apps prioritised across every site from one console.
- Cloud-managed LAN and wireless. Switches and access points managed from the same platform as the WAN, so the wired and wireless network is one stack, not three.
- IoT and device connectivity. Connect CCTV, sensors and distributed devices without a separate management tool for each one.
- Cisco and Webex speciality. A genuine Cisco practice covering routing, switching, Meraki and Webex Calling and Webex Teams, so organisations already invested in Cisco gear have a carrier that speaks the same language.
- Webex Calling and Webex Teams. Hosted voice and collaboration on Webex, with Teams direct routing and integration into existing Cisco endpoints where it makes sense.
- Local professional services. An Australian project team for design, deployment and changes, not a portal ticket queue.
Why we use them
We reach for Switch Telecom when a client has multiple sites, needs real failover, or wants the WAN, LAN and wireless managed as one stack. Their Cisco and Webex practice also makes them the natural fit where you already run Cisco gear or want Webex Calling as your phone system. The multi-carrier approach means we are not wedged onto one bearer if it underperforms, and the local team makes project work and fault escalation straightforward.

Connectivity and unified communications
UPTi is an Australian-built provider of business internet, VoIP and unified communications. Their internet uses AI to optimise traffic, detect faults early and keep critical apps prioritised. VoIP includes AI noise reduction, smart call routing, transcription and analytics. They can also bring your existing handsets onto the platform, so you can move off a carrier you are unhappy with without replacing working hardware. The Yabbit UC platform brings voice, video, chat and conferencing into one cloud platform.
What they bring
- Business internet with AI. Internet that learns your traffic patterns, optimises the path for critical apps and flags faults before they become outages.
- VoIP with AI voice features. Hosted phone with noise reduction, smart call routing, voicemail to text, transcription and call analytics built in.
- Yabbit unified communications. Voice, video, chat and conferencing on one cloud platform, so staff reach each other and customers from any device.
- Bring your existing handsets. UPTi can take your current handsets and softphones onto their platform, so you migrate away from a carrier you are unhappy with without throwing out working hardware.
- Microsoft Teams calling. Connect Teams Phone to the public network so your people make and take real external calls from Teams.
- Data centre hosting. Australian data centre hosting with predictive monitoring for workloads that need to stay onshore.
- Number porting and migration. Keep your existing numbers when you move, with the porting handled end to end.
Why we use them
We use UPTi when a client wants their internet and voice on a single smart platform, especially where AI-assisted call quality and fault detection matter. Because they can bring your existing handsets onto the platform, UPTi is also our go-to when a client is stuck on a carrier they are unhappy with and wants out without a full hardware rip and replace. The Yabbit UC layer is a good fit for teams that want voice, video and chat in one place without stitching multiple vendors together.
Voice and data that stay up, with one team behind it.
Internet, failover, SD-WAN, hosted phone and Teams calling, all looked after by engineers who already run the rest of your IT. When the internet drops or the phones go down, everything stops, yet most businesses treat connectivity as a set and forget bill, signed years ago and never reviewed. Here is what we include, and why getting it right matters.
What we include
Everything managed, one stack
Business-grade internet
Managed NBN, fibre, fixed wireless and 5G services sized for your sites and staff count. We pick the right bearer for each location and set up failover so a single link dropping does not take the business down.
SD-WAN and multi-carrier WAN
Bond multiple links across sites with cloud-managed SD-WAN. Traffic uses the best path, critical apps stay prioritised, and you get one view of the network rather than a pile of carrier portals.
Hosted phone and VoIP
Replace an on-premise PBX with a cloud phone system. Handsets or softphones, call routing, hunt groups and voicemail to email, with AI-assisted noise reduction and call transcription on supported platforms.
Microsoft Teams calling
Connect Teams Phone so your people make and take real external calls from Teams on any device. We handle the calling plan and number porting so you keep your existing numbers.
Unified communications
Voice, video, chat and conferencing in one platform so staff can work from anywhere on any device. One directory, one presence, one place to reach someone instead of three.
5G and intelligent failover
5G backup with automatic failover for branches, vehicles and remote sites that keep working when fixed lines drop. Useful for multi-site retail, field teams and regional facilities.
IoT, sensors and CCTV connectivity
Cloud-managed CCTV, environmental sensors and device connectivity on one platform. Keeps tabs on remote and multi-site facilities without a separate management tool for each one.
One bill, one team
Voice, mobile, internet and cloud on a single account. One number to call when something goes wrong, and engineers who already know the rest of your setup.
Why it matters
Getting it right keeps you working
Old contracts cost you money
Carriers raise prices and let legacy plans roll on. A regular review of your agreements often uncovers savings, better speed tiers or services you are paying for and not using.
One link is a single point of failure
If your only internet connection drops, the whole site is offline. Failover across a second link or 5G keeps the business running while the primary is fixed.
Voice and data should not live in silos
When your phone system, internet and cloud are with different vendors, fault finding becomes a blame game. One managed stack means one team owns the outcome.
Remote and hybrid work needs it to just work
Staff expect voice, video and chat to work from anywhere. The right connectivity and unified comms setup keeps that consistent across home, office and the road.
Multi-site needs a proper WAN, not a pile of bills
SD-WAN bonds your sites onto one managed network with traffic steering and failover, instead of a separate consumer plan at each location.
Compliance and continuity stack on top
Backups, security and disaster recovery all assume the network is there. Managed connectivity is the foundation the rest of your IT is built on.
We do not sell carrier plans. We manage them for you.
Real Bytes is not a telco and we do not pretend to be one. Running fibre, voice networks and 5G at scale is a serious job that takes real infrastructure, and the carriers above do it better than we ever could. So we leave it to them.
We stick to what we are good at.
Managed IT, security and the layer that ties your tech together. That is where we add real value. Building carrier networks is a different game and we respect that.
You get the best of both.
Carrier-grade networks from people who build them, managed by engineers who know your whole setup. We sit between you and the carrier so you are not on hold to a telco call centre at 4pm on a Tuesday.
One point of contact.
When something drops, you call us. We work out whether it is the carrier, the router, the firewall or the phone system, and we chase the right party. You do not get bounced between vendors.
We are not locked to one carrier. We pick the best fit for each site.
Switch Telecom and UPTi are our go-to carriers, but we will work with whoever gives your business the best result. That includes Aussie Broadband, Optus, Telstra, Vocus, Symbio, Uniti Wireless and local fixed wireless providers where they are the better option for a remote or regional site.
We start with a proper assessment of your sites, usage and budget, then go to market and negotiate on your behalf. You get the right service for each location, not the one that pays us the most. If a cheaper or more reliable option comes along, we will bring it to you.
The questions we get asked the most.
- What is hosted phone and how is it different from a normal phone system?
- A hosted phone system (sometimes called hosted PBX or VoIP) runs in the cloud instead of on a box in your comms room. You do not buy or maintain a PBX, you just need handsets or softphones and an internet connection. It scales up and down easily and works from anywhere.
- Can I use Microsoft Teams as my phone system?
- Yes. Microsoft Teams Phone adds calling to Teams so your staff can dial external numbers from the Teams app on any device. We connect the calling plan and number porting so you keep your existing numbers.
- Who are Switch Telecom and UPTi?
- Switch Telecom is an Australian business telco we use for multi-carrier WAN, internet, SD-WAN and 5G failover. UPTi is an Australian-built provider we use for business internet, VoIP and unified communications through their Yabbit UC platform. We act as your single point of contact for the lot, so you are not bouncing between telcos when something needs fixing.
- Are you locked to those two providers?
- No. We are vendor neutral. If the best fit for your sites is Aussie Broadband, Optus, Telstra, Vocus or a local fixed wireless provider, that is what we use. We assess your sites, usage and budget, then go to market and negotiate on your behalf so you get the right service for each location.
- What if our internet goes down?
- We set up failover so a second connection takes over automatically if the primary link drops. For critical sites we can use a 4G or 5G backup. You get one number to call and we deal with the carrier.
- Can you consolidate phone, mobile and internet onto one bill?
- In most cases yes. We consolidate voice, mobile and data onto a single account where the carriers support it, so you have one bill and one team to call. Where a service has to stay separate, we tell you upfront and explain why.
