Switching to Real Bytes
Changing IT provider should not mean a week of things breaking.
Most businesses put off switching because they are worried about downtime, lost files or a gap in security. Here is exactly what happens when you move to us. Your staff can call the helpdesk from day one, and the basics are locked down in the first month. By day 90 you have a written report on what we found and fixed. It runs the same whether you are in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or anywhere else in Australia.
What changes
What happens, week by week
Before day one
We learn how your business runs
A kickoff call and a walk through what you have today: who uses what, where your files live, which systems matter most. You get a short checklist of logins we need. If you are leaving another provider, we handle the handover with them so you do not have to.
- Kickoff call with the people who run the business
- List of every device, account and supplier
- Handover arranged with your current provider
Days 1 to 30
Support is live and the basics are locked down
From day one your staff can call or email the helpdesk and a Brisbane-based engineer picks it up. In the background we install our monitoring on every device, switch on backups, and check that the backups actually restore. Every account gets a second sign-in step, so a stolen password is not enough to get in.
- Helpdesk live from day one
- Every device monitored and kept up to date
- Backups running and restore tested
- Second sign-in step on every account
- Scam email filtering switched on
Days 31 to 90
We fix what we found and show you the report
By now we know your setup well. You get a plain-English report on what we found, what is fixed and what still needs a decision from you, with costs spelled out. Your staff start short security training and a practice scam email so they know what to look for.
- Written health report with a fix list
- Where you stand on the Essential Eight
- Staff security training started
- Licences checked so you only pay for what you use
After 90 days
A plan for the year ahead
We meet with you each quarter to go through what happened, what is coming up and what it will cost. You get a 12-month plan for laptop replacements, renewals and security work, so there are no surprise bills. If AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot would save your team time, we show you where, set them up and support them.
- Quarterly review meeting
- 12-month IT plan and budget
- Insurance and compliance evidence kept current
- AI tools assessed, set up and supported where they help
How you know it is working
You do not have to take our word for it
You see it in writing
The health report, the fix list and the 12-month plan are yours to keep, and you can share them with your board, insurer or auditor.
Checked against a national standard
We measure your setup against the Australian Signals Directorate’s Essential Eight and SMB1001. We hold SMB1001 Gold ourselves through CyberCert.
You can leave
No lock-in contract, and you are billed in arrears for work already done. If you move on, you take your logins and documentation with you.
Questions
What people ask before switching
Very little. Most of the setup runs in the background. Anything that needs a restart or a short outage is booked outside business hours and your staff are told beforehand.
Book a kickoff call and give us the admin logins on our checklist. We deal with your current provider and your suppliers from there.
Yes. Support starts on day one. You do not have to wait for the setup to finish to call the helpdesk, and urgent problems are dealt with straight away.
It depends on the number of staff, devices and systems. We scope it with you and agree the cost in writing before we start, so there are no surprises. Ongoing plans are on the Pricing page.
We can start learning your setup and preparing the handover while your current contract winds down, so the switch is quick when the day comes. Our own plans have no lock-in contract.
Yes. We work alongside them. They keep the jobs they know best, and we take on the after-hours cover, security monitoring and projects they do not have time for.
No. Nearly all of it is done remotely, so it runs the same in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth or regional towns. Where something needs hands on site, we send an engineer or a trusted local partner.
