Essential Eight Compliance · Melbourne and Australia wide
Essential Eight for Melbourne businesses, with the evidence your insurer or client asks for.
Essential Eight for Melbourne and Victorian businesses, and the same service anywhere in Australia.
A client, insurer or tender asks whether you meet the Essential Eight, and nobody in the business can say for sure. We check where you sit today against all eight controls, tell you the level you actually need, then put the controls in place and keep them working. You get written evidence that shows what is done, so the next questionnaire takes minutes, not weeks. We have people in Melbourne, the work is done remotely, and a business in Geelong, Ballarat or any other Australian city gets the same team.
The problem
What usually goes wrong
- Clients, insurers and tender panels now ask about the Essential Eight, and a self-assessed spreadsheet rarely holds up when someone checks.
- Most businesses have some of the controls in place but cannot say which level they reach, or which gap to close first.
- Blocking unapproved software and locking down Office macros are where most efforts stall, because they need hands-on engineering, not a policy document.
What changes
What you get when we look after it
Where you sit today
A plain-English check of all eight controls, the level you reach now, and the level your clients or insurer actually need.
Gaps closed in the right order
Updates, admin access, sign-ins, macros, approved software and backups put in place properly, starting with what lowers your risk most.
Written evidence
Records of each control mapped to the Australian Signals Directorate maturity model, ready for an auditor, insurer or tender reviewer.
Kept working
Updates, backups and settings checked every month, so the level you reach does not quietly slip.

Common questions
The questions we get asked the most
Yes. We have people in Melbourne and the work is done remotely, so businesses across Victoria get the same engineers as clients anywhere in Australia. We check where you sit, close the gaps and keep written evidence of what is in place.
Eight security measures published by the Australian Signals Directorate. Each is rated against a maturity model running from level zero to level three. Most small and mid-sized businesses aim for level one or two.
It depends on who is asking. Insurers and most commercial clients are satisfied with level one or two. Some government and defence-related work asks for level two or three. We check your obligations first and aim for the level you need, not the most expensive one.
It depends on the size of your business and what is already in place. Blocking unapproved software and locking down macros usually take longest, because they need testing with your staff so nothing they rely on breaks.
No. There are no lock-in contracts and you are billed in arrears, so you only pay for work you have already had.
Project work such as an assessment and uplift starts from around $195 per hour ex GST, scoped to your environment. Ongoing maintenance folds into managed SaaS tiers of approximately $150 to $400 per user per month.
ASD published the Essentials overview on 15 October 2026 confirming three live chapters: enterprise IT, cloud and operational technology. The Essential Eight remains current and supported throughout the transition. ASD has not set a changeover date yet. In a June 2026 interview, ACSC said deprecation would probably start in about 12 months, with retirement at 24 months, but that is not published guidance. Every Essential Eight strategy maps to at least one Essentials principle, so existing work counts as evidence, though maturity ratings do not convert automatically.
